A povidone-iodine, 0.5% oral-rinse antiseptic to be used on patients for preparing the oral mucosa prior to injection, dental surgery, or any other procedures. Patient gargles with 10–20 mL for 30 seconds and then expectorates. After 2 minutes, patient applies another 10–20 mL solution, rinses for 30 seconds, and expectorates. Can also be used before irrigation procedures: surround gingival mucosa for 1 minute with 10–20 mL of the solution, then patient expectorates.
