Why Periodontal Management?
According to the ADA, 78% of the adult population has some form of periodontal disease. When you consider how your patient base compares to the general population, you should be able to estimate what percentage of your patients likely has periodontal disease. Then consider the percentage of those patients being treated for that disease. In most cases, the percentage of diseased patients in periodontal therapy is very small. Setting clinical standards of care for soft-tissue management and determining office protocols to adhere to them is essential to the health of your patients and the health of your practice.
