Wellness, Prevention, Treatment, and Education

We support global health care missions, catalyze public-private partnerships, contribute supplies to community health care clinics, and organize training for educational institutions. We mobilize the resources needed to promote wellness and prevention, educate and train future health care professionals, and ensure that ongoing treatment programs serve vulnerable communities at local, national, and international levels.

Program Highlights

  • Give Kids A Smile: Henry Schein has been the exclusive professional product sponsor of this ADA Foundation program since its founding 16 years ago. The Give Kids A Smile® campaign has provided more than 5.5 million children with free oral health care in partnership with tens of thousands of volunteer dental professionals across the U.S.
  • The Alpha Omega-Henry Schein Cares Holocaust Survivors Oral Health Program: Henry Schein answered the call by the White House in 2014 to serve Holocaust survivors—a vulnerable population in the U.S. and Canada, of which 25% are living in poverty. The program has provided complete dental care and restoration for more than 600 survivors, giving many the renewed ability to chew, smile, and speak, and a second chance at life.
  • Healthy Lifestyles, Healthy Communities® Program: This flagship initiative supports community health centers that enhance the well-being of underserved populations in their own backyards. By sponsoring free community health fairs, HLHC provides access to free medical and oral health screenings, as well resources for a healthier lifestyle.
  • Missions of Mercy: Missions of Mercy, a community-based partnership between dental associations and dental and medical industry organizations, brings together volunteer dentists, dental hygienists, and staff to provide free oral health care to underserved communities.
  • Global Product Donation Program (GPDP): In partnership with the Henry Schein Cares Foundation, we contribute medical and dental supplies to nongovernmental organizations that provide health care services to underserved communities and at-risk populations in the U.S. and abroad. • Project Accessible Oral Health (PAOH): In 2017, Henry Schein was a founding member of PAOH alongside many key stake holders to come together to advocate for the importance of oral health as it relates to total health for individuals with disabilities. Henry Schein continues to join the coalition that has grown to over 350 organizations in improving the access to oral health care for individuals with disabilities.
  • Special Olympics: Since 2018, Henry Schein has been the Health Provider Partner for Special Olympic Healthy Athlete programs, which are free health screenings that are offered to individuals with intellectual disabilities (ID). Special Olympics offers a total of 8 screenings that encompass the whole body and mind.
  • National Council on Disability (NCD): In 2019, Henry Schein signed an MOU with the National Council on Disability to focus on advancing key building blocks for expanding dental care for people with disabilities, expanding development and utilization of products and equipment for patients with disabilities, assisting Americans with disabilities to access care, and recommending appropriate financing and reimbursement rates.
