As a global health care solutions provider, we have operations in 31 countries, and we seek to minimize the environmental impact of our office buildings, distribution centers, and supply chain network in the communities and regions where we operate. We encourage sustainable practices across our businesses, because a healthy environment means a healthier community.

Program Highlights:

LEED Certification

Our Corporate Headquarters in Melville, New York are LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environment Design) Certified. This certification recognizes that our offices have been designed to conserve energy and water, reduce waste and greenhouse gas emissions, and be safe and healthier for workers. According to the U.S. Green Building Counsel, companies that participate in the LEED process demonstrate "leadership, innovation, environmental stewardship, and social responsibility."

Reduced Greenhouse Gas Emission

  • Henry Schein partners with transportation operations that participate in the EPA's "SmartWay" program, a public-private collaboration that helps us transport our goods in the cleanest, most efficient way possible in order to protect the environment and enhance the United States' energy security.

Recycling

  • More than 10,600 tons of waste material was recycled by our North American distribution centers in 2017.
  • Recycling reduced carbon emissions in 2017 by 6,300 metric tons, equivalent to removing more than 4,500 cars from our roadways.

Global Reflections

Our Global Reflections cause-marketing campaign provides the opportunity for our customers to incorporate a wide variety of "green" products into their practice. From January through April, a portion of Global Reflections purchases are donated to nonprofit organizations in support of environmental causes.
