Team Schein Recognizes 90 Year Anniversary: Celebrating the Past, Embracing the Future.

In 2022, it marked 90 years since Henry Schein opened his pharmacy in Queens, New York, during the depth of the Great Depression. Since 1932, Henry Schein, Inc. has grown to become a global leader in delivering health care solutions for one million customers worldwide. With more than 25,000 Team Schein Members and operations or affiliates in 33 countries and territories, the Company's network of trusted advisors provides more than 300 valued solutions that help improve operational success and clinical outcomes for health professionals. Today, as a FORTUNE 500 Company, Team Schein is celebrating our past and embracing our future.


Since Henry Schein opened his pharmacy in Queens, New York in 1932, our organization has become a Fortune 500® Company and the largest provider of health care products and services to office-based dental and medical practitioners. As we continue to evolve, Henry Schein, Inc. remains committed to the values-based culture that Henry and his wife, Esther, infused in their business nine decades ago, and to serving our customers, supplier partners, investors, society and Team Schein.   • DNA Anthos Impianti (Is the Italian distribution arm of Cefla Dental, a leading manufacturer of dental equipment)
  • Medka (A full-service provider of medical consumables, equipment and technical services primarily to physicians headquartered in Berlin, Germany)

Company introduces the Digital Dental Office, Privileges customer loyalty program, and Customer Analysis Tool (CAT) system; establishes the Henry Schein Cares global social responsibility program.

Henry Schein is listed on Nasdaq Marketplace (HSIC), raising $72.8 million in the initial public offering; acquires Veratex.


1994

Company leads the industry with a dental practice-management software system; electronic claims processing is offered.


1990

Henry Schein begins international expansion (The Netherlands, United Kingdom, and Spain).

Stanley Bergman becomes Chairman and CEO of Henry Schein following the untimely death of Jay Schein;
Sales: $225 Million; 890 TSMs.

Henry Schein introduces the Protex program to educate the dental profession about infection control.
